Patrick O’Brien earned his glider pilot’s license at age 17 through the Royal Canadian Air Cadets, and he’s been immersed in aviation ever since. He entered business aviation as an intern at Execaire Aviation while studying for his MBA, where he focused on fuel procurement and mergers and acquisitions. O’Brien went on to work as a project manager before flying the Beechcraft 1900D in Africa. Over the years, he piloted the Learjet 60, Cessna Citation X and Bombardier Challenger 605, while also managing Execaire’s Operations Control Center. Today, he serves as director of flight operations.
“Leadership has always empowered me to drive change,” said O’Brien. “Over the past 12 years, we’ve completely restructured our flight operations group with a strong focus on enhancing client value through innovation and service – advancing automated risk identification, increasing efficiency through digital integrations and reducing the administrative burden on our flight crews. We also launched sustainability initiatives tied to CORSIA, identifying opportunities for fuel efficiency and advancing efforts to make our operations more sustainable.”
