Tom Lelyo discovered business aviation by happenstance. A youth pastor for more than a decade, he was looking for a change and eventually landed a job opportunity in aviation sales. Lelyo started his aviation career as a business jet broker at a local brokerage. After three years, he decided to start his own brokerage to help others with little or no aviation experience who wanted to learn how to sell business jets. Lelyo now serves as a mentor to the next generation of aircraft brokers, teaching the fundamentals of ethical aircraft sales and acquisitions.
“What excites me most about business aviation is that it’s a proverbial ‘blue ocean’ filled with opportunities,” Lelyo said. “What I find most rewarding about my career is providing help and guidance to the next generation of aspiring jet brokers – being the resource I never had, but I wish I did.”
