Together, we can be heard.
Working in business aviation means you are part of the broader general aviation community, which includes a diverse set of operations contributing to a positive social impact, from emergency medical flights to providing transportation in communities not served by the airlines. When we come together, we are 1.1 million employees committed to connecting people and communities.
Supporting Young Professionals
The NBAA YoPro Council equips young professionals with the tools to build a connected and empowered community. This network of leaders advocates for the future of the industry, ensuring that elected officials hear directly from general aviation advocates.
The YoPro Council hosts the YoPro Washington, D.C. Fly-In each summer which brings young professionals to the capital to engage with lawmakers. Participants meet face-to-face with congressional representatives, sharing their views on business aviation issues and highlighting the industry’s contributions to communities and sustainability.
This event empowers the next generation of leaders to actively influence policy by educating officials on the importance of business aviation. Through such events, young professionals foster relationships with policymakers, raise awareness of the industry’s positive impact, and strengthen grassroots support—ensuring that general aviation voices are heard in policy decisions.

The Strength of Our Community
General aviation supports more than 5,000 airports across the U.S., impacting nearly every Congressional district by creating jobs and spurring economic growth in local communities. This extensive network also showcases the strength and diversity of general aviation, which includes everything from small seaplane operations to Veterans Airlift Command missions. These connections have even helped the industry successfully rally against challenges, like the airline-backed attempt to control air traffic systems.
Our Positive Social Impact
General aviation’s ability to operate on-demand allows it to assist with humanitarian missions that commercial airlines can’t, such as the Corporate Angel Network’s 60,000 cancer patient flights and 1.4 million pounds of supplies delivered to Haiti relief efforts. General aviation also leads in sustainability efforts, including pioneering electric propulsion and promoting sustainable aviation fuels, which can reduce CO2 emissions by up to 70%. Although business aviation’s carbon footprint is small – only 0.04% of total emissions – the industry is making significant progress in reducing it further.
Advocacy Through Grassroots Engagement
When industry advocates share personal messages with lawmakers, it has a powerful impact. Grassroots Action Center is an essential tool that empowers you to communicate directly with federal and state officials on key issues. By using this resource, you can help ensure that the voices of our industry are heard and advocate for the future of general aviation.
