NBAA Announces 2005 Journalism Award Recipients

ORLANDO, FL – The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) presented its journalism awards this morning during its Media Kickoff Breakfast on the opening day of the NBAA 58th Annual Meeting & Convention.

Flying Magazine Senior Editor Tom Benenson received the 2005 Platinum Wing Award, which recognizes excellence and lifetime achievement in journalism.

Aviation International News Senior Editor Mark Phelps received the 2005 Gold Wing Award for his story titled: “Owner Flown Special Report – Preparing for the Emerging Market for Owner-Flown Turbine Airplanes.” The Gold Wing Award, presented annually for excellent, accurate and insightful reporting of issues related to the business aviation industry.

“NBAA congratulates these two journalists, whose coverage of our industry exemplifies excellence,” NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen said. “We commend Tom Benenson and Mark Phelps for their dedication to coverage of issues most important to business aviation.”
