Washington, DC, Aug. 20, 2024 – The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) today welcomed the first three leading advanced air mobility (AAM) companies with plans to exhibit at the 2024 NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE).
Electra.aero, Joby Aviation and Lilium will each be represented in this year’s NBAA-BACE Emerging Tech Pavilion in the Las Vegas Convention Center, and additional companies will soon be added to the list of featured AAM companies at the show. NBAA-BACE will be held Oct. 22-24 at the convention center and at nearby Henderson Executive Airport (HND).
More than ever, this year’s NBAA-BACE will gather the innovations that are redefining what’s possible in aviation and revolutionizing on-demand air mobility, with the Emerging Tech Pavilion offering participants an up-close look at a host of AAM concepts. The convention will also bring together the key leaders in government and industry who are shaping the AAM sector’s future, including certified flight for some concepts as soon as next year.
“Advanced air mobility is quickly moving from concept to reality, and NBAA-BACE will be the preeminent event to see how this game-changing, on-demand form of transportation will have implications for business aviation and beyond,” said NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen.
Each of the three AAM companies in the initial NBAA-BACE lineup has distinct attributes. For example:
- Virginia-based Electra.aero is leading the way in direct aviation, building hybrid-electric Ultra Short airplanes that takeoff and land in under 150 feet, and transport up to nine passengers or 2,500 lbs. of cargo on routes up to 500 nm.
- California-based Joby Aviation is building an all-electric, vertical takeoff and landing aircraft, which it intends to operate as part of a fast, quiet and convenient global passenger service, connecting people around the world.
- Germany’s Lilium, a leading electric aircraft manufacturer, is currently building a fully electric jet that takes off and lands vertically, can carry six passengers and is designed for regional and intercity distances.
NBAA-BACE will bring an entire industry together to ignite the imagination, unlock the future and let the power of innovation fly.
NBAA-BACE is the only business aviation event that puts the most exciting disruptors, the top experts and the big-picture thinkers at center stage – redefining what is possible in aviation and changing the very definition of on-demand air mobility.
