Washington, DC, December 4, 2000 – The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) has teamed with Harvey Watt and Company to provide Monthly Pay Disability Loss of License coverage and Group Term Life Insurance for NBAA Member pilots. This Member service is provided to help maintain a healthier pilot population and to make the Association’s Membership more aware of the financial ramifications of an untimely death or a career-ending disability.

Harvey Watt and Company, located in Atlanta, is the premier provider of Loss of License coverage and has been in business for 50 years. NBAA Members covered by the plan will have access to Harvey Watt’s medical assistance toll-free hotline and receive a complimentary monthly edition of the Aviation Medical Bulletin. Both of these services are designed to help prevent pilots from losing their medical certificates. Should a pilot lose his or her medical from illness or injury, in addition to paying the plan benefit amount, Harvey Watt will immediately work with the pilot, doctors and FAA to expedite the aviator’s return to cockpit and career.

NBAA Member pilots also have access to quality Group Term Life Insurance from the U.S. Life Insurance Company, rated “A+” by A.M. Best. This low-cost plan features a waiver of premium benefit and covers both recreational and commercial flying. Pilot members, spouses and children are eligible for the coverage. The plan is available in $50,000 increments with a minimum of $50,000 and a maximum of $500,000. Children may be insured for a benefit amount of $5,000.
