Connect on LinkedInRebecca Torres is originally from Puerto Rico and holds a degree in electrical engineering. She currently works for Southern Company, an Atlanta-based utility provider. An aviation career wasn’t on her radar until she had an opportunity to assist with storm restoration in Puerto Rico in 2018. There, she became a helicopter coordinator and managed a fleet of 10 aircraft. When she returned to Atlanta, she received her private rotorcraft rating, followed by private ratings for airplane and instrument rotorcraft. Torres uses her engineering and piloting skill sets in the utility industry to bridge the company’s utility helicopter digital patrol services as an airborne sensor operator and project manager.
