AAU Becomes Launch Sponsor for NBAA AvKids Program

Washington, DC, March 20, 2000 – Associated Aviation Underwriters (AAU) has become the launch sponsor for the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) AvKids (Aviation for Kids) Program.

We’re pleased that AAU has made such a generous donation to the AvKids program,” said NBAA President Jack Olcott. “AAU has always been an active supporter of NBAA programs and has played a significant role in the progression of this very important AvKids effort.”

Research indicates that during the formative years from age seven through ten many children subconsciously determine interests and make choices that influence future career choices.” added Olcott. “We hope AvKids will help young students develop an interest in business aviation careers.

The NBAA AvKids program was developed to educate elementary school students about the benefits of business aviation and to inform them about the career opportunities available related to business aviation. In addition to presenting an extensive Activities Package designed by teachers for use in the classroom, the program’s Web site attracts thousands of students and teachers interested in aviation.
