Washington, DC, December 16, 2002 – The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) is pleased to announce the publication of NBAA Works: Spirit & Achievement of the National Business Aviation Association, a book dedicated to the thousands of volunteers who have worked for over five decades to form, nurture and support NBAA.

With more than 100 color photographs, the 136-page NBAA Works provides a history of the Association, covering 55 years of NBAA achievements since its founding as the Corporate Aircraft Owners Association in 1947 with 19 Member Companies. The book charts the challenges, innovations and outreach efforts that formed NBAA today, an organization with more than 7,300 Members that has become a major force in the world aviation community. In particular, it highlights the contributions of the NBAA Board and Committee volunteers who helped make NBAA the recognized effective force for enhancing safety, security, efficiency and acceptance of business aviation worldwide.

The book will be mailed to the NBAA Membership and aviation industry representatives in the coming weeks and will eventually be posted to the NBAA web site at www.nbaa.org.

NBAA represents the aviation interests of more than 7,300 companies which own or operate general aviation aircraft as an aid to the conduct of their business, or are involved with business aviation. NBAA Member Companies earn annual revenues approaching $5 trillion — a number that is about half the gross domestic product — and employ more than 19 million people worldwide. The NBAA Annual Meeting & Convention is the world’s largest display of civil aviation products and services.
