Participants will walk away from this session with a better understanding of why this is so relevant for our industry, and how climate risks could impact the industry’s future survival.

Urban Air Mobility: Creating the Future Airspace Operations

Location: Orange County Convention Center, S230GH

Urban air mobility (UAM) and advanced air mobility (AAM) are transformative technologies that will revolutionize how cargo and passengers are locally transported. This highly disruptive technology will transform transportation domain as we know it. Imagine an urban landscape where roads are no longer part of the topography, but the airspace above is full of aerial vehicles safely transporting persons and property. Un-crewed air traffic management, new technicians and new models of aviation business will be required as technological advancement and market demand increases. How will the industry respond? These technological advancements have prompted significant public policy challenges and the need for new laws regarding navigable airspace. How will regulations change to meet the required developments? How will the workforce be developed at the high school and post-secondary institutions of higher education? This presentation will be an intensive examination on the technological, regulatory and educational influences on the creation of the Urban Airspace Environment.

Join NBAA’s Environmental Subcommittee for a session covering the basics of environmental sustainability and its implications for the planet and industry. You will learn about what environmental sustainability means for the business aviation community and the major concepts and developments happening in the industry. You will also walk away with a new understanding of why sustainability should be a priority for everyone – now more than ever!

Tomorrow’s Flight Department – The Opportunities and Challenges of AAM Integration (Operations)

Location: Orange County Convention Center, Education Theater 1

Is your flight department ready for emerging aircraft technologies? This panel session will address advanced air mobility (AAM) and the technologies associated with it. You will learn how these advanced technologies can change our global future for the good – as well as the challenges that must first be overcome to do so, particularly at the local level. You’ll then dive into the barriers that are currently keeping these technologies grounded, such as community acceptance, infrastructure, and legal, regulatory and policy hurdles.
