Washington, DC, Oct. 27, 2022 – National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) Chief Operating Officer Chris Rocheleau was recently elected to the RTCA Board of Directors.

“I am honored to serve on the RTCA board as a voice for business aviation,” said Rocheleau. “Operating safely and sustainably are vital to our industry and I look forward to working with representatives from all sectors of the aviation ecosystem to continue to improve in these areas.”

RTCA is a private, not-for-profit association founded in 1935 as the Radio Technical Commission for Aeronautics. The mission of RTCA is to inspire the creation and implementation of integrated performance standards that meet a changing global aviation environment and ensure the safety, security and overall health of the aviation ecosystem.

Stakeholders across the National Airspace System, such as major airlines, airports, aircraft and equipment manufacturers, community groups and policymakers, participate in RTCA committees tasked with developing guidelines for improving communications, surveillance, navigation and air traffic management in the United States, and around the world.

The RTCA board is responsible for management and financial oversight of the organization, including review and approval for its annual operating budget.

Rocheleau succeeds outgoing NBAA COO Steve Brown on the board. NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen also is a previous board member, and twice served as board chair.

Rocheleau joins Dr. Dr. Kerry Buckley, vice president for the MITRE Corporation’s Center for Advanced Aviation System Development, as new members of the board. Other members of the RTCA board include Lorne Cass, Aero Now Solutions; Carol Huegel, L3 Harris; Nate Boelkins, Collins Aerospace; Vipul Gupta, Honeywell); Tracy Lamb, Quantum-AI Global; Jim Coon, Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association AOPA and Dan Murray, Boeing.
