New landing fees now apply to all transient and based general aviation (GA) aircraft operating at Dallas Love Field (DAL).

The new fees were set after a coalition of aviation groups, including the Dallas Love Field Pilots Association and NBAA, met with city officials to come up with a solution that was fair to general aviation operators.

GA and non-signatory commercial landing fees will be assessed at the time of departure using the following rates:

  • General Aviation (Part 91): $5.15 per 1,000 pounds of maximum certificated landing weight, rounded to the nearest thousand pounds
  • Non-Signatory Commercial (including Part 135): $3.14 per 1,000 pounds of maximum certificated landing weight, rounded to the nearest thousand pounds.

GA and non-signature commercial flights will no longer be subject to fuel flowage fees.

All government, recognized charity and maintenance-only flights will be exempt from landing fees, but are still subject to fuel flowage fees. Operators conducting these flights must notify Vector Airport Systems and airport authorities prior to the scheduled landing by emailing the aircraft registration number, flight date and estimated time of arrival to:

“We’ve asked to meet the airport authority again in one year to discuss the landing fees, including revenues received,” said Sean Lynch, president of the Dallas Love Field Pilot’s Association and program coordinator at Engine Assurance Program. “Ultimately, we want to see Part 91 rates tied to airline rates, as the Part 135 rates currently are, to ensure landing fees from Part 91 operations aren’t used to make up budget gaps.”
