NBAA encourages members to register for an upcoming Blue Lightning Initiative (BLI) webinar to learn how they can help end human trafficking.

“The business aviation community supports the BLI’s effort to stop human trafficking, and I hope members will join me in attending one of these webinars,” said Brian Koester, CAM, NBAA’s director of flight operations and regulations. “Register for a webinar to learn how you can spot the signs of human trafficking and be part of the effort to stop global human trafficking.”

The informational webinars will provide aviation organizations an opportunity to learn about BLI. Representatives from the Department of Homeland Security and Department of Transportation will share information on how to identify potential traffickers and human trafficking victims and how to report their suspicions to federal law enforcement.

Scheduled ahead of National Aviation Day on Aug. 19, sessions will be held:

  • Aug. 17, 2 – 2:45 p.m. (EDT): Commercial Aviation Sector
  • Aug. 18, 2 – 2:45 p.m. (EDT): Regional Aviation Sector

More than 100,000 aviation professionals have been trained through this initiative and DHS reports actionable tips continue to be reported to law enforcement, thanks in part to the BLI.

Register for the webinars and learn more about the initiative.
