With a focus on workforce development, and helping students learn about the multitude of business aviation careers available to them, NBAA encourages university students and faculty to attend the 2021 Collegiate Connect Day at NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE) on Thursday, Oct. 14 in Las Vegas, NV.

This event not only includes student-focused sessions and programming, but is a unique opportunity for those looking at careers in the industry to visit hundreds of exhibitors and wide range of aircraft on display.

This year’s Collegiate Connect Day program includes speed-mentoring with young professionals and a panel discussion about engaging with local and regional groups to volunteer, advocate and pursue professional development. Students may also sign up for resume or LinkedIn profile reviews and have the opportunity to join a student cohort that will meet daily during the show at the NBAA booth in the Connection Zone.

“The business aviation industry is really about community and Collegiate Connect Day is an opportunity to demonstrate our values to the next generation of business aviation professionals,” said Jo Damato, CAM, NBAA’s senior vice president of education, training and workforce development. “I encourage other NBAA-BACE attendees to engage with students when you see them at the show. Learn about their interests and share your experiences in the industry. You never know when a brief discussion might spark a long-time passion for and ultimately career in business aviation.”

NBAA’s Collegiate Connect program was launched in July 2021 with a three-part webinar series to reengage students over the summer. The program featured sessions on in-person networking, using social media to network online and finding allies to help students and young professionals be their authentic selves in business.

The final webinar takes place Sept. 23 and focuses on in-person networking – just in time for NBAA-BACE. Register for the webinar.

Any person who attends an NBAA convention, conference, seminar or other program grants permission to NBAA, its employees and agents (collectively "NBAA") to record his or her visual/audio images, including, but not limited to, photographs, digital images, voices, sound or video recordings, audio clips, or accompanying written descriptions, and, without notifying such person, to use his or her name and such images for any purpose of NBAA, including advertisements for NBAA and its programs.
