Jeff Wofford – CAM Fellow

Jeff Wofford, CAM, has been a professional pilot for 43 years, with nearly 14,000 accident-free hours in over 100 different aircraft.

Wofford retired from CommScope, Inc. in 2023 after working there in a variety of roles since 1984, mostly recently as Chief Pilot and Director of Aviation.
During his tenure with CommScope, the company received the 2007 Bombardier Aviation Department Safety Award.

In 2012 CommScope completed IS-BAO Stage 1 registration in 2012, IS-BAO Stage 2 registration in 2014 and IS-BAO Stage registration in 2016 and 2022.

After leaving CommScope, Wofford formed Flying W Aviation, LLC, an aircraft management, consulting and pilot service company.

Wofford served on the NBAA Safety Committee for eight years, serving as Vice Chair and later Chair. He managed the NBAA National Safety Forum for four years and was instrumental in the creation of the NBAA Dr Tony Kern Professionalism in Aviation Award. Wofford now serves on the NBAA Domestic Operations Committee.

Wofford has been on the FAA Safety Team and a FAA Safety Team Representative for 17 years and received the FAA Safety Team Regional Award in 2017. In 2013, he was the recipient of the 2013 Bombardier Safety Standdown Eugene Cernan Aviation Safety Award.
