Mark Chaney, CAM has 48 years of experience in the aviation industry with 45 years in business aviation. He retired from Coca Cola Consolidated, Inc. in April of 2022 and currently is a part-time consultant. He holds FAA Airframe & Powerplant licenses (also held an Inspection Authorization for 42 years), private pilot and aircraft dispatcher certificates. He organized and founded the Tennessee Valley Chapter of the Professional Aviation Maintenance Association in 1989 and served as President for 8 years.

Chaney became one of the first Certified Aviation Managers in 2003. He served on and is the former Chair of the NBAA Citation Technical Committee, a former member of the CAM Governing Board and a former member of the Cessna Citation MSG3 Industry Steering Committee. He was the recipient of the 2011 Cessna Aircraft Company Vern Lowe Award. Chaney was a founding board member of the Carolinas Aviation Professional Association and the Aviation Emergency Response Organization (AERO). He became a board member of the Tennessee Aviation Hall of Fame in November of 2021 and Chairman of the Board in 2022. While serving on the CAM Governing Board, Chaney was a member of the Executive Committee during the program’s initial accreditation process in 2013. He assisted in the first accreditation renewal in 2018.

Chaney graduated from the Florida Academy of Aerospace Technology in 1976 with an A&P certificate. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration/Accounting. He is a member of Beta Alpha Psi, Beta Gamma Sigma and Gold Key Honor Societies. In 1998, Chaney was elected to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Alpha Society. He was hired by Coca Cola Consolidated, Inc. in Charlotte, NC, in April 2000 and was promoted to Director of Aviation in August 2001. In September 2015, he became Senior Director, Aviation Services. He relocated the entire aviation department from Chattanooga, TN to Charlotte, NC in 2004. He worked previously as a Director of Maintenance for Astec Industries (1979-1984), Dixie Yarns, Inc. (1984-1997) and Unum Group (1997-2000), all located in Chattanooga, TN.

Chaney has experience with numerous business aviation aircraft including the Dassault Falcon 2000LX; Gulfstream Aerospace G-III; Mitsubishi MU2-B; Lockheed Jetstar II; Rockwell Sabreliner models 60, 65 and 80; British Aerospace Hawker 800, 800XP and Jetstream 31; and Cessna Citation V, VII, Excel and XLS+ aircraft. He participated in the planning, design and construction of two corporate aviation hangar facilities.

Chaney is a native of Chattanooga, TN and currently resides in Cleveland, TN with his wife, Glenda.
