Through the generous donations of member companies, the NBAA Business Aviation Management Committee offers the Leadership Scholarship to enable qualified business aviation professionals to either attend NBAA’s Leadership Conference or FlightSafety LEAP (Leadership for Aviation Professionals) Program, Module One or Two. The 2020 Leadership Conference will be held on February 24-26 in Orlando, FL.

Attendance at the NBAA Leadership Conference promotes the professional development and leadership skills of individuals seeking careers in flight department management. Those who currently work in the business aviation industry or attend a university-level aviation program and who meet the requirements below are encouraged to apply. Applications will be reviewed and evaluated based upon the career planning and progress of the individual toward a career in business aviation.

The other option available for the winner to choose from is to attend one module of FlightSafety International Leadership for Aviation Professionals Training. The scholarship recipient will be enrolled in their choice of LEAP module: either Module 1: Succeeding with Corporate Leaders and Functions, or Module 2: Succeeding at the Hangar. This generous donation by FlightSafety International is geared towards Aviation Professionals that are current or aspiring leaders, have support from their management teams, are actively pursuing leadership development and have a willingness to provide course testimonials if needed. You can review more about the LEAP Program at the following link: https://resources.flightsafety.com/leadership-aviation-professionals-leap/. Each winner is responsible for the travel costs associated with attending the LEAP Course.

This scholarship will be redeemable under the conditions established by NBAA and its donors. Each recipient will be granted up to $850 in funds to attend the NBAA Leadership Conference if that is the award chosen. Funds awarded may be used to cover registration, travel, lodging and/or other expenses associated with Leadership Conference attendance. Applicants are limited to receiving one award per person every other year; i.e., recipients of the 2019 scholarship are not eligible to apply for the 2020 awards, but they will be eligible again in subsequent years.
