Connect on LinkedInBrubaker was a young adult when his grandpa had him help build an RV-7 kit plane. Shortly after, the recession was in full force and, with a young family at home, he saw an opportunity in aviation. During that time, he worked labor jobs during the day and attended A&P school at night. He climbed the ranks at Vail Valley Jet Center to become the director of maintenance. Brubaker’s most rewarding roles are teaching young mechanics, working with the EAA Young Eagles program and promoting the aviation community.
“I was told every pilot’s career begins and ends with piston airplanes, so it’s important to me to utilize piston tenants to introduce kids to aviation,” Brubaker said. “I enjoy working with young mechanics and pilots, building them up and watching them succeed out in the world.”
