Connect on LinkedInAt just 27 years old, Nicole Battjes opened Rainbow Helicopters on the Hawaiian island of Oahu with one Robinson R44. Now she manages eight helicopters with more than 50 employees and is the current chair of Helicopter Association International. Battjes started flying at 16 in her home state of Michigan and is a dual-rated pilot with commercial ratings for both airplane and helicopter. After completing a degree in business aviation and communications, she relocated to California. There, Battjes continued her helicopter training and started her first job in aviation with a charter operator in Sonoma.
“I love people, and I find the people in this industry – and my company in particular – so inspiring,” Battjes said.
