Developing a Catering SMS for Your Flight Operation

Catering SMS is a risk management methodology that applies appropriate science and technology to plan, control, and document safe food processes in the flow of food that is business aviation specific. This is an important initiative for flight and cabin crews, FBOs, aviation caterers and others involved in food handling to understand. Recent regulatory guidelines on food safety systems and a functional preventative food safety system that involves identifying hazards correctly during the aviation food handling, storage and preparation stages of production to protect the health of passengers and crew will be discussed.

Risk Management – the Legal Side of Things

Every business aircraft operator manages risk on a daily basis. But when things go wrong, aircraft can be damaged or people can get hurt. Learn from real life examples of “risk management gone wrong” and understand how to mitigate scenarios like these through a highly interactive session which draws upon video footage of actual cases, pictures, and unique perspective on litigation process and outcomes presented by an experienced aviation lawyer who holds an Air Transport Pilot certificate, a flight engineer certificate and current designation as an FAA examiner for pilots and flight engineers as well as a background in aviation maintenance and repair issues.
