SHOW HIGHLIGHTS

NBAA’s convention offers more exhibits, aircraft and opportunities for education and networking in business aviation than any other show. The latest and greatest in aviation technology will be on display at the Innovation Zone, the area of the exhibit floor where hot topics in business aviation will be discussed. Attendees will be able to explore topics such as artificial intelligence, electrically powered vertical takeoff and landing (eVOTL) aircraft, the future of air transport and much more. Here are just a few of the many show highlights:

New Product Showcase – NBAA’s convention is the best place for OEMs, equipment manufacturers and service providers to launch their newest product offerings. Debuting at the show this year is the New Product Showcase at the Innovation Zone. Held on the opening day of the convention, Oct. 22, the New Product Showcase will feature many new and innovative products and services, and the companies selected to participate will give brief presentations directly to attendees and members of the press.

Events by and for Young Professionals – The YoPro Networking Reception, hosted by the Young Professionals in Business Aviation (YoPro) Council on Oct. 22, provides a fun, lively setting for attendees to engage with rising business aviation professionals. This event is a valuable opportunity for professionals early in their careers and even industry veterans to collaborate, build relationships and share best practices. NBAA also will recognize this year’s class of Business Aviation Top 40 Under 40 recipients throughout the show.

Careers in Business Aviation Day – Stu-dents and aspiring aviation professionals can attend educational and networking sessions on the third day of the show, Oct. 24, to learn about the wide range of career opportunities in business aviation. Careers in Business Aviation Day pro-vides special programming focused for middle school, high school and college students, who are invited to connect with exhibitors and get a close-up look at business aircraft.

Learning – Education sessions at the convention cover every aspect of business aviation. There will be a full range of topics for the entire flight department to learn about, from pilots to maintenance technicians. Hot topics in the industry will be discussed, including any legislative and regulatory updates that are necessary to stay compliant. Those considering the use of an aircraft for business can also gain valuable insight into the business aviation industry by attending these sessions.

Emerging Technologies – This year’s NBAA-BACE will include:

  • A new Urban Air Mobility/Unmanned Aircraft Systems area for eVTOL aircraft and drones
  • An SAF Fly-In/Fly-Out featuring jets using sustainable aviation fuels
  • A Business Aviation Insider-sponsored session on supersonic aircraft

NBAA-BACE is a place to be inspired by speakers and award honorees. This year’s featured keynoters will include ‘Jet-man’ Yves Rossy, the first man in the his-tory of aviation to fly with a jet-propelled wing. A Swiss military-trained pilot, Rossy is the inventor of a series of experimental individual jet packs, and he will share his insights on the possibilities for the future of flight.

NBAA’s 2019 award honorees will include Barrington Irving, who in 2007 was the youngest pilot to fly solo around the world in a single-engine airplane. He will receive the 2019 American Spirit Award in recognition of his work to inspire young people to pursue careers in aviation and aerospace.
