In the fight against COVID-19, business aviation companies continue to provide vital support. Recently, one FBO stepped in to deliver critically needed supplies for medical personnel on the front lines of the crisis.
Million Air White Plains, based at New York’s Westchester County Airport (HPN) recently donated 8,000 three-ply respiratory masks and 1,100 KN95 protective face masks to White Plains Hospital, flying the personal protective equipment from Houston, TX to HPN onboard a Cessna Citation S/II from the FBO chain’s own charter fleet.
“Private jets and the aviation industry as a whole are the most underrealized disaster-relief tools,” said Million Air CEO Roger Woolsey. “The aviation community has been crucial in transporting desperately needed medical supplies to communities hard hit by the coronavirus.”
Aviation International News reports the April 28 flight was coordinated through the Westchester Business Council and was just the latest of more than 30,000 emergency medical missions performed by Million Air since the company’s founding in 1984.
