Flight data monitoring (FDM) can help identify potential issues with your aircraft and pilots before they become bigger problems. To be fully effective, however, FDM requires commitment and buy-in from across your flight operation. “You have to understand why you want that [FDM] program,” emphasizes pilot and aviation safety manager Morgan Bonde. “It has to be rooted in continuous improvement, and that needs to be from a leadership perspective, from a safety program perspective and from the flight deck and pilot perspective.”
