Podcast: How Data Collection, Monitoring and Sharing Improves Safety

Feb. 12, 2024

Flight data monitoring and data sharing are important tools to help identify potential safety risks before they become serious issues. That said, many operators are uncertain about how they work, what equipment is needed and what this information can offer their operations. NBAA has developed a new, comprehensive resource to answer those and other questions. “Knowing your top five or top 10 risks is one thing, just to bring system awareness,” notes Jet Access Aviation’s Maria Kelly. “But being able to quantify or qualify what type of data you are receiving will help you make changes or improvements to your policies or procedures.”

In this episode of NBAA’s “Flight Plan,” host Rob Finfrock speaks with:
  • Maria Kelly, vice president of safety and DER at Jet Access Aviation
  • Jeff Mittelman, founder of Mittelman Aviation Solutions
  • Frank Raymond, safety director for a Seattle-based Part 91 operator
