Members Tell NBAA About Their Favorite Member Benefits

During the month of May, NBAA has traditionally focused on highlighting the many benefits of being an NBAA Member. This year, the Association adopted a slightly different approach by asking Members to select their favorite Member benefit or promotion and respondents were entered in a drawing for a new Apple iPad.

The response was exceptional, with a diverse range of NBAA Member services cited throughout the hundreds of responses received.

Chris Strong, NBAA senior vice president for marketing & member services, noted that the “Tell Us Your Favorite Member Benefit” promotion provided valuable feedback directly from the NBAA Members who utilize these resources daily.

“This offered a narrower focus than our biennial Membership survey, and it reaffirmed to us the value of the work we perform every day on behalf of NBAA Members,” added Strong. “It’s great to see that value resonate back.”

For example, an assistant chief pilot who referred to himself as Todd K. said that NBAA Air Traffic Services provides a “great resource for having a big picture of all the many things that can affect a domestic flight and the assistance available for understanding the information when needed.”

NBAA’s numerous resources for tax and insurance information also received a thumbs-up from many Members, with administrator David W. noting that NBAA offers “a reliable single source for guidance” about “the complexities of tax and insurance [which] is summarized very well and an excellent source to spring-board discussions and review for our company.”

“One benefit that I just starting using is the Business Aviation Jobs tab [found on NBAA’s home page],” added an aircraft maintenance manager. “I used it for searching resumes to locate candidates who have the most potential to assist filling an open position we have currently in our flight department.”

Strong also noted that feedback from similar outreach efforts has also led to new Member programs and benefits.

“One of the things we’ve gleaned over the years is that networking opportunities are important to our Members, as well as the opportunity to meet with and interact with NBAA staffers. That’s driven the creation of events like NBAA Coffee Socials at the European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition and the Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition,” he said.
