Washington, DC, July 23, 2012 – Rich Karlgaard – columnist, publisher of Forbes magazine, author, pilot and business aircraft owner – will be a featured speaker at the Opening General Session of the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) 65th Annual Meeting & Convention (NBAA2012) on Tuesday, Oct. 30, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL.

“Rich’s insights as a business icon, as well as pilot and aircraft owner, make him uniquely qualified to address NBAA2012, and we look forward to hearing his take on the economy and business aviation just one week before the presidential election,” said NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen. “Rich is an outstanding communicator, whose passion for aviation and ability to articulate how issues and circumstances interrelate is simply remarkable. When he spoke at our Convention three years ago, Rich received some of the highest speaker ratings we have ever seen.”

In addition to his work as publisher of Forbes, Karlgaard writes a biweekly column titled “Innovation Rules,” which covers economic and technology trends, business transformation and conversations with leading CEOs.

In April 2002, Karlgaard authored a Forbes column titled, “Boonyack Comeback,” in which he referenced the numbers of businesspeople who were moving from large cities to smaller towns to improve the quality of their lives. The outpouring of personal stories Karlgaard received in response to the column inspired him to fly a Cessna Skyhawk across the country to interview some of the many people who had contacted him. Today, Karlgaard owns and flies a Cirrus SR22, and remains an avid supporter of business aviation.

Karlgaard is a frequent panelist on Fox News Channel’s Forbes on Fox and frequently appears on CNBC’s Kudlow & Co. He is the author of Life 2.0, which was a Wall Street Journal business bestseller. Karlgaard is an accomplished entrepreneur and has started two business magazines, a venture capital firm, and Silicon Valley’s leading civic association, the Churchill Club.

NBAA2012, the world’s premier annual business aviation event, will be held from Oct. 30 to Nov. 1 in Orlando, FL. The Convention will feature exhibits covering a million square feet of floor space at the Orange County Convention Center, an on-site outdoor light business airplane static display adjacent to the convention center and a static display of aircraft on Orlando Executive Airport. NBAA2012 will feature more than 100 education sessions and will host thousands of business aviation professionals who are interested in seeing and learning about all that is new in the world of business aviation. Register to attend NBAA2012.
