Washington, DC, December 12, 2001 – The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) is proud to announce that it will offer the new Lawrence Ginocchio Aviation Scholarship, which was created by the family and friends of the late Lawrence Ginocchio to honor his outstanding personal contribution to the business aviation community.

Named for a remarkable man whose strength of character inspired a high standard of caring in the aviation community, the Lawrence Ginocchio Aviation Scholarship recognizes those individuals who have demonstrated honesty, integrity and selflessness in their dealings with others. These individuals should possess a passion for aviation, as Larry did, and have utilized their interest or involvement in business aviation to enhance the lives of others.

In 2002, the family and friends of Lawrence Ginocchio will award five scholarships, each worth $5,000, to students who are officially enrolled at NBAA/University Aviation Association (UAA)-member institutions. All completed applications and required documents must be postmarked no later than August 22, 2002, to be considered. Scholarships will be awarded in the fall of 2002 and funds will be made payable to the school.

Applications for the 2002 Lawrence Ginocchio Aviation Scholarship are now available. For more information about NBAA Scholarships or to obtain applications, visit the NBAA Web site at www.nbaa.org/scholarships or contact NBAA’s Jay Evans at (202) 783-9353 or jevans@nbaa.org.

NBAA represents the aviation interests of nearly 7,000 companies which own or operate general aviation aircraft as an aid to the conduct of their business, or are involved with business aviation. NBAA Member Companies earn annual revenues approaching $5 trillion — a number that is about half the gross domestic product — and employ more than 19 million people worldwide. The NBAA Annual Meeting & Convention is the world’s largest display of civil aviation products and services.
