Washington, DC, May 10, 2002 – The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) is proud to announce the creation of the Concordia University International Aviation MBA Scholarship. Concordia University, located in Montreal, Quebec, offers this scholarship to business aviation executives employed by NBAA Member Companies who pursue Concordia’s Master of Business Administration in global aviation.

The scholarship will be applicable to Concordia University’s global aviation MBA (GAMBA) starting in October 2002 and will cover 50 percent of the tuition fee of US $25,000. The GAMBA program is delivered through a combination of five face-to-face sessions held in Montreal and four distance-learning segments over a two-year period. The GAMBA format was developed in direct response to industry requirements and is designed to allow students to take the program while maintaining their full-time employment positions. Additional program information can be found at http://aviationmba.concordia.ca.

Business aviation executives will be eligible for this scholarship provided that:

  • They are a full-time employee of an NBAA Member Company
  • They are sponsored by their employer
  • They hold a middle or senior level management position
  • They meet the normal program admission requirements.

The program admission requirements are

  • Minimum of three years of experience as a middle manager (or higher level)
  • University-level undergraduate degree
  • Satisfactory Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) performance
  • Two letters of reference
  • Self-evaluation and educational objectives.

The deadline for submissions of complete applications is July 31, 2002, and scholarships will be awarded by August 15. For additional information or to obtain an application, contact Angela Usas, assistant director of the Concordia Aviation MBA Program, at (514) 848-2930 or amba@vax2.concordia.ca. Scholarship applications also will be available for download in late May from the NBAA Web site at www.nbaa.org/scholarships.
