Las Vegas, NV, October 13, 2004 – The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) announces the creation of the 2005 Corporate Aviation Management Scholarship, which will enable qualified candidates to attend the NBAA Leadership Conference scheduled for March 2005 in Florida. This scholarship, administered by the NBAA Corporate Aviation Management Committee, is made possible by three corporate sponsors: The VanAllen Group, Pentastar Aviation LLC and The Schwan Food Company.

Attendance at the NBAA Leadership Conference promotes the professional development and leadership skills of individuals seeking careers in flight department management. Applications will be reviewed and evaluated based upon the career planning and progress of the individual toward a career in business aviation.

This scholarship will be given by March 1, 2005, and will be redeemable under the conditions established by NBAA, The VanAllen Group, Pentastar Aviation LLC and The Schwan Food Company. Three recipients will be granted funding for registration at the 2005 NBAA Leadership Conference. Recipients are responsible for other costs associated with the scholarship, such as travel and lodging expenses.

To be eligible for the 2005 Corporate Aviation Management Scholarship, the applicant must be a U.S. citizen who either works in the business aviation industry or attends a university-level aviation program. Application forms must be accompanied by the following:

  • 250-word, typed, double-spaced essay describing the applicant’s interest in and goals for a career in the business aviation industry
  • Letter of recommendation
  • Resume

Completed applications and required documents must be postmarked no later than Friday, December 17, 2004, to be considered for the scholarship. For more information, contact Jay Evans, NBAA director, operations, at (202) 783-9353 or jevans@nbaa.org.
