NBAA Announces New Scholarship to Benefit Schedulers and Dispatchers

Washington, DC, August 27, 2004 – The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) will offer a new Schedulers & Dispatchers Training Scholarship in conjunction with corporate sponsors Airline Ground Schools, CornerStone Strategies LLC, FlightSafety International and MedAire, Inc. A total of six training awards, including one offered by NBAA’s GA Desk at the FAA Air Traffic Control System Command Center, will be presented by February 14, 2005, to current and aspiring schedulers and dispatchers to promote their career development.

Through the 2005 NBAA Schedulers & Dispatchers Training Scholarship, NBAA will offer the following awards to six individuals:

  • Dispatcher license training by Airline Ground Schools, www.agschools.com
  • Professional development course by CornerStone Strategies, LLC
  • Dispatch license training by FlightSafety International, www.flightsafety.com
  • Corporate scheduler/dispatcher course by Flight Safety International, www.flightsafety.com
  • Initial training for in-flight medical issues by MedAire, Inc., www.medaire.com
  • On-site training at the FAA Air Traffic Control System Command Center by the NBAA GA Desk Staff, www.nbaa.org/gadesk

The 2005 Schedulers & Dispatchers Training Scholarship is made possible by its corporate sponsors, the NBAA GA Desk and the NBAA Schedulers & Dispatchers Committee.

The NBAA Schedulers & Dispatchers Committee also offers monetary awards for schedulers and dispatchers through a separate Schedulers & Dispatchers Scholarship program. Since 1997, more than $150,000 has been awarded to business aviation professionals through the Committee’s scholarship program. The corporate sponsors for the 2005 Schedulers & Dispatchers Scholarship are: ExxonMobil and the Avitats, Signature Flight Support, Universal Weather and Aviation Inc., ChevronTexaco, Atlantic Aviation, Air BP Aviation Services, Jeppesen DataPlan, Jet Aviation and Miami Executive Aviation.
