Washington, DC, May 17, 2004 – The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) announces that Jorge Chipollini, a maintenance technician from Springvale, AR, has received the NBAA Maintenance Management Conference 100 Years of Powered Flight Scholarship.

Chipollini currently is employed as an aircraft maintenance technician at Sam’s Aircraft Service in Springdale. He originally is from Peru, where he was involved in aircraft maintenance since 1981. He has been an FAA-licensed Airframe & Powerplant mechanic since 2000 and is looking forward to applying this scholarship to a FlightSafety King Air Maintenance Initial Course this June.

This one-time scholarship was created in 2003 by the NBAA Maintenance Committee in special tribute to 100 years of achievement in aviation maintenance since the first flight of the Wright Flyer in December 1903. The NBAA Maintenance Committee is dedicated to promoting education and training as a means for aviation maintenance professionals to enhance their careers.

NBAA offers several scholarships to promote professional development and business aviation careers. For more information, visit the NBAA web site at www.nbaa.org/scholarships.

NBAA represents the aviation interests of more than 7,600 companies that own or operate general aviation aircraft as an aid to the conduct of their business, or are involved with business aviation. NBAA Member Companies earn annual revenues approaching $5 trillion — a number that is about half the gross domestic product — and employ more than 19 million people worldwide. The NBAA Annual Meeting & Convention is the world’s largest display of civil aviation products and services.
