LAKELAND, FL, April 9, 2008 – The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) today announced that it will host a new, three-day industry event, the Light Airplane Conference & Exhibition (LAC&E). NBAA made the announcement during the annual Sun ‘n Fun Fly-In.

The show will serve as the industry’s premier event dedicated to operators who use light airplanes to make their businesses more successful. Specifically, LAC&E will focus on business owners and other operators of light jets, turboprops and piston airplanes.

“When we ask our Member Companies with light airplanes how NBAA can better serve them, the answer we frequently get is a request for an event specific to their needs and concerns,” said NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen. “We have heard from this important part of our membership, and we’re responding with this new event specific to light airplane ownership and operations.

“We are confident that the Light Airplane Conference & Exhibition will be well received by our light airplane operators, who will now benefit from a show filled with exhibits and educational Information Sessions focused on their unique interests, and a static display that showcases their aircraft,” Bolen continued.

NBAA’s inaugural Light Airplane Conference & Exhibition will take place on Thursday through Saturday, March 12-14, 2009, in San Diego, CA. The San Diego Convention Center will be the location for the exhibit hall, where people involved in nearly every aspect of light airplane business aviation will display their wares. The exhibit floor is expected to cover approximately 1,000 exhibit booth spaces.

The Static Display of Aircraft will be located just minutes from the convention center, at Jimsair Aviation Services on San Diego International Airport. The static display will feature nearly 50 light aircraft, including light jets, turboprops and piston airplanes.

LAC&E also will provide information about the latest developments, issues and trends of specific interest to light aircraft operators. Twenty-five Information Sessions will feature industry experts covering a host of NBAA benefits and topics offered for tax planning, accounting, regulatory compliance, aircraft insurance, safety and maintenance best practices, and more.

“Perhaps the best part about this show,” Bolen continued, “is that light airplane operators are going to help guide our planning for it. Throughout the rest of Sun ‘n Fun, and in the months to come, NBAA wants to hear from the light aircraft operators in our industry about how to make the event as valuable an experience as possible.”

To submit suggestions and ideas, Bolen provided a toll-free phone number 1-800-928-4283 (1-800-9-AVIATE), and an e-mail address, ideas@nbaa.org.

“I look forward to our first Light Airplane Conference & Exhibition, and to working with the people in our industry to make it a reality,” Bolen concluded.
