WASHINGTON, DC, May 18, 2007 — The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) and its Atlanta Local Committee today announced a partnership with The Home Depot and non-profit organization KaBOOM! to construct an aviation-themed playground near Atlanta’s Fulton County Airport (FTY). Atlanta will serve as the host city for NBAA’s 60th Annual Meeting & Convention from September 25 to 27.

“Aviation has always inspired the imagination, and NBAA is delighted to work with the local Atlanta community to build this playground, which will introduce kids to the excitement of aviation in a fun way,” said NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen.

NBAA and funding partner The Home Depot have scheduled construction for Sunday, September 23, two days before the opening of the Convention. KaBOOM!, a national nonprofit group, will design and oversee the project using its “community-build model” to bring business and community interests together.

“NBAA’s Atlanta Local Committee is pleased that this playground gives us an opportunity to partner with the community on an initiative that benefits all families in the area,” said NBAA Atlanta Local Committee member Bill McBride, who also serves as senior director, corporate aviation, The Home Depot.

Approximately 400 NBAA volunteers are expected on construction day, including volunteers from the Georgia Business Aviation Association, and residents living in close proximity to FTY. NBAA is calling on others planning to attend NBAA 2007 to volunteer for the construction.

More information about the project and how to volunteer will be posted at www.nbaa.org. Additional details also will be included in materials sent out to those who are registering to attend the Convention.
