James Sullivan Travel Fund
The NBAA Maintenance Committee recognized the need for additional assistance for award recipients to offset travel and lodging costs and established the travel fund in 2012. These funds cover airfare, transportation, lodging and food costs recipients incur during their awarded training.

In 2024, the AMT Travel Fund was renamed the James Sullivan Travel Fund to honor a two-time award student recipient and NBAA Maintenance Committee volunteer. Sullivan had a profound impact as a student, technician, pilot and aviation advocate. He was passionate about aviation and helping others and the Maintenance Committee is honored to recognize him and his contributions through this fund.

The James Sullivan Travel Fund is a monetary award and would not be possible without the support of the following donors: Aviation Maintenance Professionals, ASAP Aerospace Services & Products, AVMATS, Bombardier, CAMP, Collins Aerospace, Corporate Jet Support, Duncan Aviation, Elliott Aviation, Executive Jet Management, Garmin, GE Aerospace, Global Appearance Group, Gulfstream, Honeywell, JSSI, Pentastar, Perkins Aircraft Windows, Pioneer Aviation Management, ProStar Aviation, Satcom Direct, Snap-On Tools, Spirit Aeronautics, Standard Aero, Turbine Engine Specialists, Veryon, and WestStar Aviation.

Please note: Recipients must use the separate James Sullivan Travel Fund Application after a scholarship is awarded to apply for travel assistance.
