Shelbey Hooker set out to be a helicopter pilot, but an opportunity led to an airplane rating and she became dual rated. Through her studies at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, it became obvious that unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) are a big part of the future, so Hooker leapt at the opportunity to learn new skills, eventually completing three deployments to Afghanistan flying Predator drones.

Hooker loves the diversity and adaptability of business aviation, saying, “there’s something new every day,” as the technology of business aviation adapts to new use cases.

Hooker volunteers with Women in Aviation, the Whirly Girls, NBAA and AZBAA, and co-founded a non-profit music education organization called The Red Note Foundation.
