Industry workforce concerns have underscored the importance of nurturing younger members of the business aviation community, an experience that often greatly benefits both the mentee and their mentor. “I lean on a quote I saw: ‘That when one person mentors, two lives are changed,’” says Andre Watson, who joined the NBAA Mentoring Network while furloughed from his job in 2020. “It was life-changing for me. I’ve learned things and met people I never would have met on my own, without Eric as a mentor.”
In this episode of NBAA’s “Flight Plan,” host Rob Finfrock speaks with:
- Eric Canup, head of flight operations for Live Oak Bank
- Grace Kane, first officer for Masco Corporation
- Mike Thomas, chief pilot for Stryker Corporation
- Andre Watson, director of maintenance for Pacific Northwest National Laboratory
