Silk Scarf Award presentation: Dean Saucier, Jeff Smith, and Matt Zucarro

Sept. 21, 2017

NBAA recently presented its Silk Scarf Award to Jeff Smith, former chairman of the Eastern Region Helicopter Council (ERHC), for his efforts on behalf of the business aviation industry.

Smith received the honor on Sept. 16 from NBAA Northeast Regional Representative Dean Saucier and previous Silk Scarf Award recipient, Helicopter Association International’s Matt Zucarro, at ERHC’s annual meeting.

”Jeff received NBAA’s Silk Scarf for his selfless work on helicopter issues in the New York metro area, including his long and arduous work mitigating routes, curfews and restrictions at Hampton Airport (HTO) while continuing to advocate on behalf of business aviation,” said Saucier.

”Jeff has also been instrumental in working with New York City on routes over the city and access to the NYC heliports,” he added. ”Jeff is also a strong supporter of NBAA, and continues to work against ATC Privatization.”
