Use this form and checklist to provide the details and supporting documentation for your application for the Operations focus area for the 2024 application for Sustainable Flight Department Accreditation.

Employee Air Travel Log

This Excel file may be used to track Scope 3 emissions as a result of employee air travel. Operations emissions are calculated by evaluating the travel via aircraft operated by a third party. This encompasses employee air travel, including aircraft operated by a third party (i.e. airlines, charter).

ICAO Carbon Emissions Calculator

ICAO has developed a methodology to calculate the carbon dioxide emissions from air travel for use in offset programs. The methodology applies the best publicly available industry data to account for various factors such as aircraft types, route specific data, passenger load factors and cargo carried.

Computing Greenhouse Gasses for Business Travel

The Greenhouse Protocol offers technical guidance for a number of approaches for a more comprehensive estimate of GHG emissions associated with business travel. While not required for accreditation, this resource will be a useful guide if your business aviation is interested in accounting for other types of employee travel.

Ground Support Accreditation Resources

Ground Support – Application Form and Guidance Document

Use this form and checklist to provide the details and supporting documentation for your application for the Ground Support focus area for the 2024 application for Sustainable Flight Department Accreditation.

Ground Support Fuel Purchase Log

This Excel file may be used to track Scope 1 emissions as a result of ground support vehicles. Emissions calculations are based on gallons of fuel uploaded, including propane and natural gas.

EPA’s Greenhouse Gas Equivalencies Calculator

This Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) calculator may be useful in communicating your greenhouse gas reduction strategy, reduction targets, or other initiatives aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Infrastructure Accreditation Resources

Infrastructure – Application Form and Guidance Document

Use this form and checklist to provide the details and supporting documentation for your application for the Infrastructure focus area for the 2024 application for Sustainable Flight Department Accreditation.

Infrastructure Energy Use Log

This Excel file may be used to track Scope 2 emissions as a result of infrastructure. Evidence must summarize energy use and the associated calculated metric tonnes CO2 emissions.
