NBAA’s annual Compensation Survey – the industry’s most comprehensive survey on business aviation salaries and benefits – is now open for participation. All Member Companies operating aircraft are invited and encouraged to be a part of the survey by providing compensation and company data.

Submissions for the 2015 survey will be accepted through Friday, May 1.

The survey covers 17 job descriptions most common to Part 91 flight departments, from aviation department managers to line service personnel. Salary data is collected and broken down over numerous categories, giving hiring managers and HR personnel lots of information by which they can analyze results to determine the best compensation plan for their unique business.

“NBAA’s Compensation Survey helps flight departments and business aircraft operators evaluate their employee positions and benchmark the value of those jobs, and company policies, against those of industry peers,” said Peter Korns, NBAA operations project manager.

Companies participating in the survey gain free access to the aggregate results once published by NBAA.  Those that do not participate can purchase access to the online survey. The survey is open to all Member flight departments, but only data pertaining to Part-91 domestic operations are included in the final publication.

All data collected by NBAA is kept strictly confidential and only composite results are published. Safe harbor guidelines and provisions are followed in the collection, compilation and publishing of survey data in order to comply with federal antitrust laws and protect Member Companies. Therefore, only a Member Company’s representatives, or their designated alternates, are permitted access to the survey.

Last year, NBAA made some significant changes to the survey, and a portion of the benchmarking sections were removed creating a shorter format in an effort to simplify survey participation.

“The compensation of aviation professionals is important business,” said Korns. “This survey is an indispensable tool designed to help flight departments and operators remain competitive in the business aviation environment. Participating is not only the way to free access, but also your opportunity to engage in the employment market and contribute to consistent and reliable compensation data.”

Last year’s survey results were based on data submitted by 664 aviation departments. It presented information and demographic characteristics representing nearly 3,400 aviation professionals.
