As winter takes hold across most of the country, and those in chillier climes head to sunny Florida, business aircraft flight crews may face additional delays in what is already some of the busiest airspace in the country. To avoid congestion and delays, “Take the time to examine where the gaps are in volume,” advises the FAA’s Jason Rooks. Doing so may enable crews to “file an efficient route that works for them in advance of any [airspace] initiative slowing them down or adding extra mileage, time or fuel to their route.”
In this episode of NBAA’s “Flight Plan,” host Rob Finfrock speaks with:
- Jason Rooks, national operations manager, FAA Air Traffic Control System Command Center (ATCSCC)
- Dean Snell, manager, NBAA Air Traffic Services at the FAA ATCSCC
