Podcast: A Full-Circle Approach to Mitigating Loss of Control in Flight

Oct. 23, 2023

Loss of control in flight (LOC-I) remains a significant safety concern all across aviation. One way to mitigate the risk of LOC-I is through upset prevention and recovery training. But utilizing such in-aircraft training, combined with simulator training and ground instruction, provides what NBAA Safety Committee member Amanda Ferraro calls “a full-circle mitigation strategy for safety management to try and reduce the [LOC-I] risk down to as low as reasonably practical.”

In this episode of NBAA’s “Flight Plan,” host Rob Finfrock speaks with:
  • Amanda Ferraro, CAM, CEO of Aviation Safety Solutions and NBAA Safety Committee SMS Working Group lead
  • Jim Hosey. president and cofounder of Aviation Safety Compliance LLC and a member of the NBAA Safety Committee LOC-I Working Group
  • Paul “BJ” Ransbury, CEO of Aviation Performance Solutions and chair of the NBAA Safety Committee
